Hello Mr. Pruiett,
Its great to see your entry in the competition. I was in Kenya/Tanzania in 2005 with 3 others and we hiked Kilimanjaro with Zara Tours. We had a great experience!
How many porters do you employ? How many employees overall? How many travelers come through Zara Tours each year? If you could include those numbers in your entry form it would be great.
Keep up the good work.
Best,
Dana Frasz

Hi Dana,
I apologize for taking so long to respond. Thank you for commenting. We added your suggested information to the entry form before the deadline, thankfully.
I am glad to hear your ZARA experience was a positive one. Please let me know if you noted any areas that needed improvement. Thank you for reading our entry and let me know if there are any other questions I can answer.
Best regards,
Bryan
If you are looking to partner with more volunteer placement organizations as you mention above I'd be happy for you to write a guest post on the www.voluntourismgal.com industry blog.
Question though, how much of the funds travelers are paying goes into your development work?

My family has personal ties to the area of Tanzania, so I purposely was looking forward to organizations helping this area. This organization has one of the best purposes that a geotourism company can have. And that is literally teaching, training, and developing the people within the community so they can have the resources to take cars of themselves without depending on anyone else. The lessons and tools you are teaching are awesome and I hope you guys continue to see remarkable success!!!
